SUSAN HILLER
1940 - 2019
“I particularly like the way the mundane becomes special as soon as you pay attention to it.”
Susan Hiller was an American-born conceptual artist who mainly lived and worked in London. Considered as a unique voice in contemporary art with an anthropological eye, her multimedia works inspired many generations for decades. Over the course of her career, Hiller art practice included installation, video, photography and painting. Attracted to the marginal, she always thought about her relation to the world emphasizing on the unnoticed aspects of our culture.
Susan Hiller was more than an avant-garde female artist. She was, above all, a truly free spirit. We believe that her influence will increase with time, as well as the values we commonly share.
